THREE MORE RUSSIAN DRIVERS JOIN THE 2018 SMP F4 NEZ CHAMPIONSHIP

Michael Belov, Artem Lobanenko and Ivan Shvetsov will take part in the 2018 SMP F4 NEZ Championship certified by FIA.

The 2018 grid of SMP F4 NEZ Championship will be filled with 16-year-old driver from Moscow region Michael Belov, 17-year-old racer from Moscow Artem Lobanenko and 15-year-old Ivan Shvetsov from Togliatti city. Thus, at the moment there will be in total of six Russian drivers competing, including previously announced Ilya Morozov, Pavel Bulantsev and Ivan Berets.

Belov, Lobanenko and Shvetsov are among of the most experienced Russian go-karters. They all have scored many podiums and wins in Russian and international karting competitions. Moreover, Mikhail Belov and Ivan Shvetsov have already experience of the SMP F4 NEZ Championship, in which they both participated in 2017.

“Past three years the championship has become a necessary step in the transition from karting to formula classes”, says Petr Aleshin, director of the SMP Racing youth program.

“I am confident that this season it will be held at the same high level as in the previous ones”, Aleshin continues.

Russian drivers are traditionally fighting for the top positions in the SMP F4 NEZ Championship. In 2015 the SMP Racing program driver Vladimir Atoev become second in the championship, in 2016 Alexander Vartanyan become third and in the 2017 season same standing was achieved by young race talent Alexander Smolyar.

Calendar of the 2018 SMP F4 NEZ Championship season will be announced later.
