FINNISH RACING TEAM FILLS THE GRID OF THE 2018 SMP F4 NEZ CHAMPIONSHIP

Finnish racing team Kart In Club Driving Academy fills the starting grid of the 2018 SMP F4 NEZ Championship. After one practice year in 2017, in 2018 the team is ready to join the series with full force from the very beginning of the season. Team consists of two young drivers, 16-year-olds Konsta Lappalainen and Jesse Salmenautio, both born on 11th of August 2001.

In 2017 Lappalainen competed in few race events of SMP F4 NEZ as well as in F4 Spain and Salmenautio in couple of the F4 Spain race events. Meaning that both have already gained experience on formula 4 car and instead of training it’s time to show their true skills.

Lappalainen and Salmenautio have got a strong history in karting. Besides F4 races in 2017, both youngsters competed in STCC Nordic series, in which Lappalainen was able to achieve great second position. Moreover, in 2016 Lappalainen won Finnish Championship of OK karting class.

Finnish racers are ready to give their full effort to compete in the series for the top positions:

“Yes, this year we go with two drivers and of course our goal is to get as many podium positions as possible. Some of the circuits are new and that especially will make the season very interesting”, comments Petri Lappalainen, Team Manager.

“It was easy decision to join the series as it’s a good series on great circuits. In addition the promoter Marko Koiranen is a long time friend and cooperation with him is easy”, continues Lappalainen.
