April 14, 2016

Danny Kroes is the third Dutch driver confirmed in the 2017 SMP F4 NEZ Championship, alongside his fellow countrymen Richard Verschoor and Jarno Opmeer. The three musketeers from Netherlands will be in a field of twenty drivers for the first round of the Championship together with the Formula One Russian Grand Prix on 29-01 May.

The young Dutch driver has gotten the motorsport bug quite late as he started racing at 12 only, but got good results straight away, winning the BNL karting series in 2015 as the climax of his karting career.

Danny Kroes

« I am very Pleased to announce that I will join the smpf4 championship for 2016. After only 4 years of karting this is a major step but at 16 I feel it is the right choice for me now. I am very excited about the first race in Sochi Autodrom together with the Formula One Russian Grand Prix, that will hopefully turn out great after only five testing days with the Tatuus/Abarth F4 car. I am really looking forward to this season! »

The young Dutch from the KNAF Academy will be at the sttering wheel of car #38 this season and will fight for the Rookie title.
