Round 3 of the 2017 SMP F4 NEZ Championship starts tomorrow in Ahvenisto, Finland. It has been a packed beginning of the season as the Series is heading back to Europe after two back-to-back rounds in Russia. Xavier Lloveras, Christian Lundgaard, Juuso Puhakka, Nikita Volegov and Tuomas Haapalainen are the first winners of this third season, and it’s Lloveras who arrives in Finland as the new leader of the general classification, four points ahead of Renault Sport F1 young driver Christian Lundgaard.

Xavier Lloveras, FA Racing

“I know Ahvenisto and it’s a difficult circuit. I have the advantage of the experience of course, but everything will depend on the weather conditions, and on the other drivers apprehension of this particular track. Last year there were less cars as this season, so let’s see how it will go this weekend. I hope we will have clean races and good fights”

The grid will welcome back a 2016 SMP Racing driver, Roman Lebedev, who entered three rounds last season.

With a total of 20 drivers, with Dunner’s come-back after his little accident in Smolensk, as well as Sten Piirimagi who could not join Round 2, the Championship is looking strong, being the only FIA F4 grid in constant increase.
